Our Staff
The director, Saulet Kureshy, has been involved with Montessori  education since 1974. After getting her Bachelors degree in Education and Child Development, she pursued the Montessori Education.  Mrs. Kureshy received her training and AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) Certification from a renowned teacher who was trained by Dr. Maria Montessori. She moved to Fort Worth in 1985 and has since been at this school.
All of the Montessori Guides at the Montessori School on Camp Bowie have AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) Certification, as well as AMS (American Montessori Society) Certification. Each guide has been with the school for a number of years ranging from 10 to 20.
In addition, each Montessori guide utilizes the help of an assistant. The assistants are trained in the Montessori method of teaching and have extensive knowledge of and experience in working with children.
Our Environment
Our Montessori environment is carefully prepared by our Montessori certified guides. It is rich with order and detail. All the furniture is child-size, lightweight wood. The shelves in each work area are organized with material within easy reach.
Windows have colorful curtains and walls are adorned with art work of famous artists and children’s art. There is an abundance of natural light and each classroom opens out to the gardens. On good days children have the option to work outdoors.
Children are very comfortable in their environment because they know where everything is. They enjoy purposeful activity . They work individually or in groups. The guide moves from child to child in slow graceful movements, giving lessons at a table or on a rug.
There is a hum and a bustle of activity as children talk to one another in soft voices. They respect the environment and each other.
Each class has pets and plants that the children care for.
There is order, self discipline, independence and joy in learning in the Montessori classroom environment.
